Technology Policy
We have several rules listed below regarding technology at LGMUN; violation of any of these rules can lead to removal from the conference:
- Delegates WILL NOT VIDEO RECORD, audio record, or take pictures/screenshots of any part of the conference.
- Delegates may not share any meeting join information with others. Delegates also may not enter meetings which are not assigned to them.
- The committee chair has the power to mute all delegates, but we want to avoid using this tool. We also expect delegates will be muted until they are chosen to speak. Delegates should find a quiet place for meetings so there are not any unwanted background sounds during meetings.
- Delegates will keep their cameras on at all times. We recommend a blank background for all meetings. There can not be any branded material or offensive material anywhere in the view of the camera (or in any Zoom background).
- Delegates will not use any inappropriate language or make any inappropriate gestures. We also do not want any sarcastic language in any calls or chats.
- Delegate will not ever share their screen, even if given the ability. Chairs will be the only ones to share screens.
- Any offensive behavior or language on meetings or on outside chats must be reported by delegates to the chair or the secretariat immediately. This can happen verbally in a meeting, or in a private Zoom chat or email.
- Overall, imagine this conference is a school call and follow the same rules. We reserve the right to remove delegates for any other improper online actions.

Awards Policy
LGMUN is proud to present Best Delegate and Outstanding Delegate awards to delegates who demonstrate exceptional diplomacy, speech-making, and creative problem-solving skills in committee. Delegates who choose to submit position papers for their committees by the deadline are eligible to receive Research Awards as well. Using any pre-written resolutions are grounds for disqualification for awards. Delegates do not have to submit position papers in order to be eligible for Best Delegate or Outstanding Delegate awards.
Plagiarism Policy
LGMUN has a zero tolerance policy for plagiarism, and position papers will be checked with plagiarism software to insure their originality. Delegates who plagiarize risk being disqualified in the competition for awards.
Behavior Policy
While attending LGMUN, there is no change in rules for behavior as compared to normal school events, so any inappropriate behavior will be grounds for dismissal from committee. Even though the conference is online, we will still use the same behavior standards. We expect delegates will be able to judge proper behavior, but if they cannot, display proper behavior, we may remove them from the conference.
Dress Policy
Business attire is required for attendance of this conference at all times during any video call. Any delegate with an egregious violation of this policy could be removed from eligibility of awards or committee entirely. Please just be reasonable, and this policy will not be a problem.
Payment Policy
Delegates will pay $15 as a deposit for the conference. We will offer to return this $15 deposit if and only if the delegate attends the conference. If a delegate does not attend the conference, we will not offer to return the deposit. Proceeds from the conference will go to Save the Children.
All delegates will be charged a 3% transaction fee when they pay for their registration on the Los Gatos High School Web Store. The 3% fee is required and will not be refunded after the conference unless you email us explaining extenuating circumstances.
We will not be offering refunds to those who cancel their registration for LGMUN 2020. Please ensure that you will be able to attend before you register.
